GREAT FRANQUIN, HYPNOTIST, SMASHES NEW ZEALAND THEATRE ATTENDANCE RECORDS
The whole theatrical world is astounded at the phenomenal attendance records, long run seasons, and spontaneous audience enthusiasm which everywhere is accorded The Great Franquin, the Sensational Hypnotist, who, following his first week's record breaking session at His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland, will visit the Whangarei Town Hall for two nights, Monday and Tuesday, August 1 and 2. In Wellington. Christchurch. Dunedin. Invercargill, Timaru, Oamaru, Napier and Hastings, he has had to return for from three to five seasons to accommodates crowds endeavouring to gain admission. In Dunedin, even after thirteen performances, the Town Hall, seating 3212, was far too small to hold the would-be patrons, and police reinforcements were called nightly to control the crowds seeking admission.
