Move To Hold Alternate NAPB Meetings Here
AT its next meeting the North Auckland Power Board will decide on a proposal to hold meetings alternately at Whangarei and Dargaville.
This decision was made yesterday when Mr A. Clarke, seconded by Mr .T. A. S. Mac Kay, moved that such a system operate. Both Mr Clarke and Mr Mac Kay staled that the, board was carrying on a considerable amount of business in the Whangarei area and members would be saved considerable travelling and inconvenience if alternate meetings were held in Whangarei. The motion called for a trial period of 12 months. The board's chairman (Mr R. G. Murdoch) said he appreciated the feeling of the members from the Whangarei side of the area, but he would like members to have more time to discuss the plan with the board's executive officers. Mr D. H. Cochrane said he would like to see the question given a trial. Mr Clarke said he .was quite satisfied to have the question deferred.
