RESOLUTION That the Whangarei Borough Council. acting in pursuance of the oowers conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and all other powers and authorities in any way enabling, doth hereby make a By-law to be known as By-law No. 29, 1949. The object and purport of the Bylaw is as follows: 1. To require that any Contractor, Builder, Carter or owner of land or other person wishing to take a cart or vehicle over a footpath other than a property crossing constructed for such purpose, shall apply to the Council for a permit to do so and shall pay a fee of £3 for the purpose of repairing any damage that may be done to any such path, but if the repairs do not cost so much as £3 the balance shall be refunded and if the repairs shall cost more than £3 the applicant shall pay tp the Counci Ithc extra cost. 2. To provide for the use of Ordinary Building Totara timber for weatherboarding without it being treated effectively with an approved wood preservative by an approved process. A complete copy of the proposed By-law is deposited at the office of the Council, Municipal Building, Bank Street, end will be open to the inspection of the public during office hours from the 18th July, 1949. until the 2nd August. 1949.
