Must Stop Work WELLINGTON, Thu. (P.A.)—Auckland watersiders have been instructed by the national executive of their union not to work the Canadian-owned ship Ottawa Valley. This was confirmed today by the national secretary (Mr T. Hill).

SYDNEY, Thu. (3 p.m.)—William Parkinson, president of the southern miners’ district, was sentenced today to 12 months’ imprisonment for contempt of court arising from failure to obey an order to pay to the arbitration registrar, funds drawn from the union account.. ,
Morris Michael Fitzgibbon. secretary of the southern miners’ district, received a similar sentence on a similar charge.
