Rejection Of Volunteers

WELLINGTON, Thu. (P.A.) The Director-General of Health was being asked to discuss with examining medical officers for the services the various causes' of rejection of volunteers and to submit a report, said the Minister of Health (Miss Howard) in the House of Representatives yesterday, in reply to a question by Mr C. G. E. Harker (O—Bay of Plenty). Miss Howard said candidates presenting themselves as volunteers were not necessarily a representative group and the result of their medical examination did not give a reliable indication of the health of the general community in these particular age groups.
