Idle Lands Survey In Bay Of Islands
KAWAKAWA, Thu. (Sp.)—Six reports from individual riding councillors on the subject of idle lands within the county have been handed to the Bay of Islands county clerk (Mr J. L. Rayner). The ridings covered are Pakaraka, Towai. Okaihau, Kawakawa, Mataraua, Waimate North. Those not covered yet, for a variety of reasons, are Kerikeri, Tautoro and Russell. At their regular July meeting yesterday, councillors considered various points of the survey.
The county chairman (Cr H. T. Atkinson), Cr A. Riddell and Mr Rayner were appointed a sub-committee to collate the available information for presentation at the Northland counties’ idle-lands conference in Kaikohe on July 28.
