DONATION TO PIPE BAND A donation of £2/2/- was made to the Wliangarei and . County Pipe Band Society by the Whangarei Harbour Board at its annual meeting yesterday. WGHS ROLL The roll number at the Whangarei Girls’ High School is now 618, compared with 633 before the end of last term. There are 450 pupils in the senior department as against 465 in April. The intermediate roll remains the same at 168.

CHILLED EGGS Another 300 dozen Australian chilled eggs will be distributed in Whangarei next Wednesday or Thursday to relieve the egg shortage. The eggs are being made available by the Internal Marketing Division. The first consignment of 300 dozen arrived yesterday and were distributed by the North Auckland Farmers C-oop., Ltd. , If the demand warrants, it is hoped that a further supply will be available next Wednesday fortnight.
