135-Game Tennis Match
NEW YORK, Tue. (11 a.m.).— In one of the longest matches in tennis history—l3s games—Ted Schroeder and Bob Falkenburg beat Richaid Gonzales and Hugh Stewart for the Southern California doubles title at Los Angeles. First set ended at 36—34; the next three were normal, 3—6, 4—6, 6—4, but the last went to 19—17.
The match took 4hr 45min playing time. The exhausted players took a 15-minute spell midway through the match.
