North Joy Ride In Other People’s Cars
A joy ride from Auckland to Rawene and back in other people’s cars seems to be the story behind several cars which have been reported missing and then recovered.
The story started at Devonport last week when a car was taken from there and found at Wellsford. Missing from Wellsford on Saturday night was another car which was found bogged in a side road at Rawene from where a Morris Eight car was taken. This car was found badly damaged after going over a bank at Towai, and it is believed that an occupant was Injured. During Sunday night or yesterday morning another car was taken from Hikurangi to which the joy-riders apparently had secured a ride after being involved in the accident at Towai. This morning, the Hikurangi car was reported abandoned at Warkworth. Investigations are being made by the police.
