Tramway Union Claims Rejected
WELLINGTON. Fri.' (P.A.). The Tramway Employees’ Union offer to withdraw their ciaims on every clause on which mutual agreement with employers had not been reached, and to agree to the existing clause, was rejected by the employers’ representatives when the two parties met in Conciliation Council today. The union had asked that the terms of the tribunal decision under which they had been working for almost two years, be converted, with minor alterations into an award. The employers objected to some clauses covering shift work and spread hours. The dispute will be referred to the Arbitration Court. (EARLIER REPORT.—Page 7.)
