8 English Teachers For Posts in N,Z„
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.) —Eight English school teachers arrived at Wellington on the Rakaia yesterday from Britain on exchange for a year with New Zealand teachers, who left in the Ruahine last November. Miss G. Cobbledick, infant mistress, from Walthamstow, London, will be given an appointment by the Auckland Education Board; Miss D. S. Huitt, of Eltham, London, who has been teaching infants at Stepney, London, will go' to the Newmarket School, Auckland.
Miss M. Muggridge, of Watford, Hertfordshire, formerly teaching junior pupils at Garstow Primary School, is going to the Eastern Hutt School, Wellington. Miss I. M. Holland, of Wem. Shropshire, who was at the Lyneal Church of England School, is going to the Nelson district as a relieving teacher.
Miss M. S. Pedlar, from North Kensington. London, will teach infants at Richmond. Nelson; and another infant mistress, Miss J. M. Birkenhead, of Edmonton, London, will teach children in Canterbury. Miss J. Sutherland, B.A. (University of Wales), who specialised in history at Winson Clive Girls’ School at Cardiff, expects to concentrate on social studies at a new job at the Christchurch Technical School. Miss A. M. Mathewson, M.A. (Edinburgh), formerly at Edinburgh Bellview School, is going to the Timaru Girls’ High School. Her subjects are English, history and geography.
