Woman Was Not Fooled By Man.
SYDNEY, Fri. (11 a.m.)—When Mrs R. Cockburn, of Earlwood, Sydney, was approached by a man who asked her to meet her husband in the city, she became suspicious and mentioned the matter to Senior Constable E. Davis, who was mowing the lawn at his home a few doors away. He told her to lock her house and leave with her hat and coat at the appointed time. When Mrs Cockburn left Constable Davis got his revolver and watched the house.
Soon he saw a man knock on the front door and then walk around to the back.
Constable Davis followed and found the man trying to force an entry. Later the man was charged with attempting to break and enter’.
