A wedding of interest to Whangarei residents was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Suva, on January 18, when Audrey Sayer, third daughter of Mr and Mrs A. A. McLauchlan, Gorries Road, Whangarei, was married to Thomas Oscar, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. G. Robinson, Timaru. The bride, entered the church on the arm of her cousin, Inspector W. A. Milne, of the Fiji Police Force. She wore a charming gown of off-white embossed satin, styled with a fitting bodice and long sleeves, the waistline being emphasised with a flared peplum, which fell at the. back to form the train of her frock. Her long embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet composed of Fucharist lilies, gardenias, jasmine and cream rosebuds.
The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. N. H. Wright, assisted by the Rev. J. A. ■F. Watson. The organist was Miss Jean Derrick
The reception was held at the home of the Rev. and Mrs N. H. Wright, where the guests were received by Mrs N. H. Wright and Miss I. S. Lapthorne.
The bride and bridegroom afterwards left for a honeymoon tour of the main island and the island of Ovalau. They will make their future home at Natabua, Lautoka, Fiji.
