Five More Fatalities', Three Pinned By Tractors

A married woman was killed instantly at Ruawaro yesterday afternoon when a tractor she was driving capsized and pinned her underneath. She was: Mrs Emily Hannah, aged 37. wife ol Mr R. H. Hannah, of Ruawaro. and mother of two children. Mrs Hannah was helping her husband to rake hay and when he stopped work to attend to the milking she continued alone to drive the tiactoi pulling the hay rake. Mr Hannah was in the milking shed when the noise of the tractor ceased. Running outside, he saw that the tractor had run back on an incline and overturned, pinning his wife to the ground. He was unable to release her without aid and went to a neighbours harm for another tractor to pull the machine away.

When the log was being hauled it moved with unexpected suddeness when the strain was put on and its end struck Mr Lambert on the head.

Child Drowned

An eight-year-old boy was drowned while playing with other boys in the Mania Creek, Ahimia. yesterday. He was: Manuel Hikairo, who was on holiday in the district with his paients from Tauranga.
