Final Decision Soon On Borough Boundaries

(From Our Special Correspondent). WELLINGTON, Thu.—The Local Government Commission has received a number of objections to the proposed extension of the Whangarei borough boundaries, which are now being considered. It is expected that the commission’s final decision will be made known at an early date. ?

The most important objection is that of the Kamo Town Board, whicii contends that the inclusion of this area in Whangarei would not be of economic or social advantage to Kamo.

The commission’s preliminary decision. it is contended, is not in accordance with the weight of evidence of the electors as shown at a public meeting recently held to discuss the proposal.

The Kamo Town Board expresses willingness to cooperate with Whangarei Borough in its. town planning scheme and ultimately to seek amalgamation if the electors express such a desire.

The Whau Valley Golf Club objects to the inclusion of its property in the borough on the ground that it was proved that no benefit will accrue.

Mr J. Cross, on behalf of his wife, Mrs A. V. Cross, asks for exclusion from the borough of certain property in the Whau Valley area.

Four ratepayers in the area southeast of the borough object to the inclusion in the borough because, in their opinion, no benefit could accrue for many years, and that the remainder of the property in that area is owned by the railway department.
