'Always Give Your Cat The Benefit Of Doubt'

Whether a cat has nine lives or not may be a debatable subject but, if it has, then Mrs M. J. Ci'ispin’s cat has only eight more to go. Mrs Crispin, who lives at Kamo, was perturbed at the disappearance of two of her chickens, which had been hatched out only recently, and naturally blamed the most likely object, the cat.

To avoid having any more of her chickens go the same way she decided that the cat must go, and so proceeded to find a bag and a bride.

Her small son, who has the controlling interest over the cat, was naturally upset about the affair and when he was told to catch the cat he made the excuse that it had scratched him and made off. HEDGEHOG THE VILLAIN No moi’e was seen of the cat all next day but, in the night, a din was heard in the fowl-run and everyone thought the cat was up to his tricks again. On having a look in the nest it was found that a hedgehog had pushed the hen off the chicks and was dragging them away and eating them. By the time he was found he had already eaten one and - left the feet and had another one in his mouth. The hen could do nothing about it because of the bi'istles. So the moral is: “Always give youi cat the benefit of the doubt.”
