Prominent Visitors To Northland Area
A remit that the conference make strong representations to the Department of Internal Affairs and Tourisv Department, to ensure that the Northland area is included in itineraries of distinguished visitors and tourists lo New Zealand, was moved by Mr Rhys Williams, of the Kaitaia Chamber at the Northland Associated Chambers of Commerce Conference on Saturday.
He said that although Northland might not have the well-equipped facilities for these visitors, it was one of the greatest tourist areas of the country. Mr H. A. Timbers (Kaitaia), seconding the motion, said one of the biggest publicity measures was the visiting o! these distinguished people to Northland.
“If you raise your voice loud enough someone will take notice,” he remarked. This remit was carried.
