0. G. Win Indoor Marching Shield
Old Girls marching team is the first winner of a shield presented by Fisher and Son, Whangarei, for annual indoor marching competition. Sponsored by the City Rugby Football Club a show was held on Saturday night in the Whangarei Town Hall when the shield was competed for for the first time. Old Girls only narrowly won from Combined Salons, who was beaten in the final after a second march had been called. The finalists again tied in the first march of the final and the judges A. Hooker and J. Hitchcock) called for another test. The shield is to be retained by the club that wins it the greatest number of times—lo times being the maximum.
