Livestock Exports
LONDON, Fri. (10 a.m.)—The Secretary for Overseas Trade (Mr Bottomley) told a meeting of the livestock export group in London that British exports of livestock during the first nine months of this year were worth £3,200,000 —only £374,000 less than the total for the whole of 1947. Before the war the annual total was under £750,000. 'Mr Bottomley said the immediate post-war task of assisting Continental countries to restock was, in the main, completed.
