WELLINGTON, Fri. (Sp.)—A deficit of £674,170 in the railway working accounts is shown for the six months from April 1, to September 13. In the same period last year a loss of £861,617 was incurred.

For the four weeks ended September 18, expenditure on, railway operation exceeded revenue by £107,977. A profit of £22,577 on miscellaneous services reduced the loss for the period to £85,400, compared with a loss of £130,329 in September last year.
