Temperatures Over 80 Deg.
Temperatures up to 85 degrees were registered in Whangarei yesterday. During the night, with a cloudless sky, the temperature dropped sharply, and at 8 a.m. this morning the thermometer reading was 57 degrees. During today the mercury level rose steadily. In the Maungatapere valley the temperature had reached 78 degrees in the shade at 11 a.m., with a good breeze blowing.
