Slow Discharge Of Ship At Auckland
AUCKLAND, Fri (P.A.).—Discharge i of bitumen at the Export Wharf from the British freighter Derrycunihy, due to sail this afternoon, continued at a diminished rate today. The employers allege that the watersiders there have adopted a go-slos ! following the dismissal of a man on : Wednesday night for reported absence I from the job. j Mr H. Barnes, president of the Auckland Watersiders’ Union, said today ! that if there had been a falling off ' in the rate of handling the Derryj cunihy’s cargo, it would be due to the \ men’s grievance at what they consider- | ed a flagrant case of unwarranted disi missal.
