New Zealand were in effect subsidising the margarine industry to tie extent of £500,000 per annum,” said Mr W. W N. Perry, of Bruntwocd, chairman of the Scuth Auckland Dairy Association and Dominior president of Federated Farmers. Mr Perry said that the best edible fallow was worth £ll4 a-ton overseas, bilt margarine manufacturers in New Zealand were getting it for approximately £4O a ton. '
