Whangaroa’s Defeat Of South Hokianga
RAWENE, Mon. (Sp.)—South Hokianga, which is next on the list of I-lar- ! ding Shield challengers, went down to ! defeat 17 —1G at the hands of Whan- ; garoa in a special representative fix- j lure played at Olaua, South Hokianga, : on Saturday.
Conditions were excellent and the ( field was dry, but it was noticeable ; that the Hokianga public were not prepared to give support to the game. The j gate totalled just £lO. South Hokianga collected possession j from 90 per cent of the scrums, al- : though the lineouts were much more j even.
