“THE ARCADIANS” Rehearsals for the Whangarei Amateur Operatic Society's performance of “The Arcadians” are now in full swing and. judging by the enthusiasm of the company, a show equal to, if not better than “The Boy’,” can be -looked for at this year’s presentation. Several newcomers to the Whangarei stage are in the company, and they’ have been fortunate in their choice of leading lady, who is the possessor of a lyric soprano voice equal to anything that has ever been heard in Whangarei. The comedy parts are in capable hands and the show will not want for “laughs.” The chorus singing will be one of the highlights of the show, backed up by a talented orchestra of 15 play’ers. The box plan opens on Tuesday’. September 7, at R. Laurie’s music shop. i
