AUCKLAND. On Tuesday (Mining Great Barrier ifsidents saw ' from Kaitfki Beach the mirage of a steamer, high in a clear sky. Mr C. Curtis states that the steamer appeared to be steaming north and heading outside the Hen and Chickens Group. The mirage disappeared,behind Mt Hobson, on the island, leaving behind a trail of smoke.
