Royal Interest In Maori Ceremonies
ROTORUA, Fri. (Sp.L—“Their Ma-1 .iesties have shown the most intense! interest in the prospect of renewing j their acquaintanceship with New Zealanders, both Maori and pakeha,” said the Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs (Mr J. W. Heenan) at Ohinemutu last night. He returned this week after discussing in London details of the Royal tour. “Their Majesties were interested in ! what Maori ceremonies they were to see.” he continued. “•Will we see hakas? ’ the King asked me. ‘Will we see pois? ' “I said they would. They both recalled that they had seen them 20 years ago.”
