Tension In Rangoon
RANGOON, Thu. (10 a.m.)— The Mandalay mail train had to turn back at Dabein, 20 miles north of Rangoon, today, because of rebel activities. Dakotas brought a detachment of Kachin reinforcements to Rangoon from the northern hills.
The Government is preparing to resist possible rebel attacks on Rangoon, and Cabinet is sitting almost continuously as tension rises. A curfew has been imposed and police stations have been barricaded. It is reported that the rebels captured Prome, cutting c-t Rangoon.
