Select Committee On Transport Set Up
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.)—The debate on the Transport Law Amendment Bill ended in "the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon- and the bill was read a second time. It is now to be referred to a Select Committee comprising the following members:— Messrs Haekett (Minister of Transport),.J. B. F. Cotterill (G —Wanganui). R. M. Macfarlane (G—Christchurch Central), J. Mathison (G—Avon), T. E. Skinner (G—Tamaki), R. G. Gerard (O—Ashburton). W. S. Goosman (O Piako). G. H. Mackley (O—Wairarapa’) and S. W. Smith (O—Hobson). The Minister, replying to a question asked by Mr Maekley, said the committee would meet in the near future —perhaps today—when it would select a chairman, and then fix a date when it would take evidence.
