NAPB Staff Roll Of Honour Unveiled
A Roll of Honour commemorating 40 members of the staff of the North Auckland Power Board who served overseas in the Second World War, including six who died on active service, was unveiled in the board’s building at Dargaville yesterday after the monthly meeting. Over 40 people were present, including all the board members. Addressing the gathering, the chairman of the board (Mr A. V. Page) said that, including 14 who joined the home defence forces, 54 of the staff had answered the call of duty during the war. Among organisations of a similar size, this grand response must have been outstanding. It was a record of which the board and its staff were exceedingly proud
