Historic Moment In Whangarei Dairy
Fassers-by rubbed their eyes and peered again as they halted in astonishment.
It could not be true! Nothing like it has been seen for years. But it was true, not an optical illusion. That most scarce of all produce—the egg—was again on sale! Nor was the prideful product of the hen being doled out surreptitiously from under the counter to-a chosen and favoured few. Instead, eggs were boldly displayed in quantity in a dairy window, and each customer was allowed up to six of the prizes. The scene of this historic occasion was a Whangarei dairy today.
