Hockey Ladies Excel
Congratulations to the Northland ladies’ hockey team which beat South Auckland at Auckland on Saturday. Every member played well. N. Hannam, as centre-forward, played at the top of her form, and P. Rasmussen and C. McGregor deserve special mention for their splendid combination. M\ Frood played well on the other wing, a position to which she is not accustomed. F. Moore, the left-inner from Dargaville. has been dropped from the team to go to Dunedin because of her age. She has shown outstanding [ ability.
M. Goulding, the captain of the side, stopped many of the opposing attacks, but her passes to the wings were either too long or too short. P. Wilson, in the backs, also distinguished herself.
