Primary School Sports
Football and basketball teams from the Kauri, Ngararatunua, Purua, Ruatangata and Kamo schools took part in a combined schools sports day at Kamo. Mr C. Stretton refereed the basketball and Miss F. Johnson was timekeeper. Mr Bedggood controlled the football games. Extra games were arranged for the losers. Results were; FOOTBALL Senior: Kamo 8 beat Ngararatunua 5. Bantam: Kamo 20 beat Kauri 3. Junior: Kamo B 5 beat Purua 3. BASKETBALL Senior: Ngararatunua 3 beat Kamo B 2 Junior: Purua 6 beat Kamo 0. Bantam: Kauri 3 beat Combined 0.
