Higher Prices For Wool In London
LONDON, Fri. (12.30 p.m.)—Final sales of wool in the third series were held today, with offerings totalling 16,889 bales, of which 16,031 were sold. New Zealand submitted 8452 and Australia 7200 bales.
Home trade and European competition was well maintained and a moderate selection was Well cleared.
The market generally was very firm and competition was keen.
Compared with the closing prices of the second series, Merinos were from 15 to 25 per cent higher, and others from 10 to 15 per cent higher.
