Auckland Power Demands Increase
AUCKLAND. Sat. (Sp.). Peak power demands are up again in the Auckland Power Board’s area, and considerable concern at the upward trend was expressed by the general manager (Mr R. H. Bartley).
It was considered, however, that the board could remain within its quota for the week, and no further restrictions would be enforced before the situation was reviewed on Tuesday.
The peak loading figures showed that consumers were not observing the radiator ban between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Farther increases in the demand would result in the imposition of more restrictions to keep the consumption within the quota. No alterations were noticeable in the Waitemala Power Board's area.
Lake Taupo rose another l-10ft yesterday. and Lake Waikaremoana remained steady.
