FBI Support For Mangakino Strikers

WELLINGTON, Thu. (P.A.)—Thu national executive of the Federation of Labour has decided to give the Nevy Zealand Workers’ Union whatever support is necessary over the strike at Mangakino. The secretary (Mr K. McL. Baxter) announced this yesterday, after the council had heard Workers' Union officials.

It was appreciated that a trade union principle was involved, Mr Baxter said.

An appeal for financial assistance is to be made to the federation’s affiliations.

Cabinet discussed the carpenters’ and the hydro-electric workers’ disputes for four hours yesterday.

Neither ( the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) nor the Minister of Labour (Mr McLagan) had any comment to make last night. The Federation of Labour, which is now handling both disputes, expected to be advised of the Cabinet’s decision in writing today on the proposals submitted by the federation to the Prime Minister on Monday.
