Thousand Children At School In Kaikohe

KAIKOPIE, Wed. (Sp.).—There are nearly 1000 children attending school in Kaikohe.

Mr H. F. Guy, chairman of Northland College committee of management, said this at last night’s committee meeting in the college. More than 300 were at the college, over 300 at the primary school, and over 300 at the native school. This meant that Kaikohe had an exceptionally high number of school children for a town of its size. It indicated that there must be a greater population—and' a greater white population—than was generally believed, Mr Guy sdded.
