Whangarei Ladies’ gardening Club
“Gardeners are very happy people. When they are in trouble all they have to do is go out into the garden and ’do a bit of digging.” The president (Miss J. ClarkWalkef) said this at the annual meeting of the Whangarei Ladies’ Gardening Club yesterday. “Gardeners should also be provident,” Miss Clark-Walker said. “They have to look ahead in everything they do.” A long waiting list for club membership was announced in the secretary’s report, read by Miss L. Brough-ton-Carr. Considerable progress had been made during the year, and the club finainces were in a highly satisfactory condition. The large attendance at club exhibitions showed that the public wasbeccmmg flower minded. Officers elected were:— President, Miss J. Clark-Walker; vice-presidents, Mesdames L. V. Willcocks, M. L. Sands; secretary, Mrs K. E. Logan; assistant secretary, Miss L. Broughton-Carr; treasurer, Mrs W. M. Fraser;, auditor, Mr R. R. Roseman; committee, Mesdames M. M. Martin, A. W. Dunford, L» J. Going, W. Davis, R. M. Campbell, W. R. McKenzie, K. Haslett, K. V. Halliday, D. Fraser.
