2 More Days' Work On Cape York
The work of discharging the Cape York’s phosphate cargo continued at Kioreroa, Whangarei, this morning, a total of 45 men being employed on three holds.
Rain caused a slight interruption this morning, and on present indications it appears that a further two days will elapse before the discharge of the cargo can be completed^ At the Town Wharf this morning the unloading of the Northern Steamship Company’s motor vessel Ranginui was hampered by unfavourable weather combined With a ladk of labour.
One gang of nine men,, including two unionists, was available, whereas 23 men are normally required for her discharge.
The company’s local agent (Mr J. Armitage) said that it was hoped that more labour would be available tonight, but, if wet weather continued, the vessel could .not be cleared until tomorrow. k
