New Zealanders At Music Academies
AUCKLAND, Tue. (P. A.)—About 16 New Zealand rehabilitation bursars are doing practical training at four London music academies—the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, Trinity College and the Guildhall Schobl of Music —said Professor H. Hollinrake, Dean of the Faculty of Music at Auckland University College, who has returned from a year’s sabbatical leave overseas. Of the New Zealanders abroad. Professor Victor Booth was professor of pianoforte at the Royal Academy and Mr Hugo V. Anson was registrar of the Royal College. Young musicians appearing most frequently in concert programmes were Colin Horsley (pianist) and Alan Loveday (violinist), who had been described by the Director of the Royal College (Sir George Dyson) as “our most distinguished student.”-
