WARSHIPS
AUCKLAND.— Exercises in the Hauraki Gulf are td be carried out ou March 24 by the Australian snip*, the cruiser Australia and the destroyer Bataan, ind the New Zealand cruiser Bellona. An interception operation, a sub-calibre shoot from, main' armament, and fleet manoeuvres designed to test efficiency in stationkeeping and communications will be included in the exercises. Both Australian warships, under the command of Rear-Admiral H. B. .Farncombe, C. 8., D. 5.0., M.V.G.. are now visiting southern ports in the course of a New Zealand cruise.— (Sp.) *• * *
