New Sanitation For Russell School
Russell school children, who have been on “strike” since March 2, are still doing their lessons by correspondence.
Appointed by a protest meeting a deputation representing the committee and parents, waited on the Auckland Education Board seeking installation of new sanitation at the school. Deputation members state that they were v/ell received by the board, which, while on the one hand deplored the direct action taken by the parents in closing the school, on the other commended it. WORK TO START SOON
The work of installing the new sanitation will be put in hand almost immediately.
An erroneous impression that the ■septic tank s3 r stem to be installed would have endangered the Russell water supply had now been corrected.
The school dental clinic is operating at the school and will remain'there for two weeks.
