School Milk Supply Stopped In Southland
INVERCARGILL, Sat. (P.A.).—The supply of milk to most schools in Southland, where children have been receiving a daily issue, has b’een stopped temporarily. This was confirmed by the Medical Officer of Health for Southland (Dr K. J. H. Davies) in response to an inquiry yesterday. He said he was not prepared to give reasons why this action had been taken or to comment *bn the matter. He did not know how long the suspension of supplies would continue. The chairman of the Southland Education Board (Mr S. Rice) said the board had been advised by the Health Department that the scheme had been suspended in Southland until further notice.
‘No reason for the suspension had been given the board. He had received no complaints from parents and he did not propose to take any further action.
