CUTTING
TE KUITI.—The giant Hangatiki cutting, 62ft deep on its centre line and 9Cft on the western face, is expected to be opened next week. The construction of the Hangatiki-T e Kui t i state highway is on an entire&r new lia£, and when the section is sealed next year a bitumen road will extend from Te Kuiti to Auckland.—(Sp.)
