Mr R. D„ Mutiro Retires
“No man is irreplaceable, but some men are hard to do without,” said the Northland Livestock Inspector for the Department of Agriculture (Mr T. H. Hankin) at a presentation to Mr R. D. Munro, Inspector of Stock for the Whangarei district for the last 10 years. Representatives of fellow officers in Northland, local bodies, and farmers gathered to farewell Mr Munro, who is retiring after 30-years’ service with the Department of Agriculture. Mr Munro was presented with a water-colour painting of a Northland bqsy and a fountain pen. Many eulogistic references were made to his exceptional energy and, perhaps in token of this, one admirer sent him an outsize in pumpkins. Mr Munro has now gone into retirement in Timaru.
