WEDDINGS. . .

A pretty wedding was solemnised at St Mark’s Church, Paparoa, on February 3 when Gertie Mavis Smith, eldest daughter of Mr J. W. Howard Smith and the iate Mrs Smith, of Paparoa, was married to Joseph Charles Lambert, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Lambert, of Marohemo.

me oride, who was given away by her father, looked very beautiful in her long flowing dress of white satin. Her lace embroidered veil was held in place by two sprays of pink orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses, dahlias and sweet peas. The matron of honour, Mrs Dulcie Fitness, of Maungaturoto, cousin of the bride, was gowned in lemon silk taffeta, with shoulder-length veil. The bridesmaid, Miss Zelda Smith, of Paparoa, sister of the bride, wore a dress of green silk taffeta. Both the matron-of-honour and the bridesmaid carried shower bouquets of autumn-coloured cactus dahlias. Tire best man was Mr Brett Fox, of Maungaturoto Railway, and the groomsman Mr Berwyn Sterling, of Marohemo. At the reception, held in the Paparoa Garrison Hall, between 300 and 400 guests were welcomed by the hostess, Mrs Frank Smith, of Bombay (Auckland), aunt of the bride, who wore a dress of cyclamen georgette. The Congregational Church, Whangarei, was the scene of a pretty wedding on February 14 when Doris Merle Dodds, younger daughter of Mrs and the late Mr S. T. Dodds, of Paparoa, was married to Robert Henry Ogle, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Ogle, of Umawera. The Rev. Stephen Clark officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Arthur Owen Dodds, of Paparoa, wore a beautiful white embossed satin frock, featuring a high bodice buttoned down the back with the full skirt forming a long train. Her tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of asters, tiger lilies and cactus dahlias. The bridesmaid, Miss Lillian Platt, of Whangarei, wore a pretty frock of turquoise blue satin and long net mittens. The little flower girl. Miss Margaret Lovegrove. of Whangarei. niece of the oride, wore a long frock of apricot satin wi'h long net mittens. The frocks of the bridesmaid and flowergirl were made on lines similar to that of the bride. _ „ , The best man was Mr Eric Ogle, brother of the groom.
