CYANIDE
INVERCARGILL. The .throwing of cyanide or some compound of cyanide into streams to kill trout has become prevalent throughout the South Island, according to a letter received by the Southland Acclimatisation Society from the Otago Acclimatisation Society. It was described as the most obnoxious and destructive method of illegally killing fish which had'yet Appeared. Eoth societies have taken up , the matter, with the ‘ authorities.— (Sp.) * * *
