Fijians Take Otago 'Wickets Cheaply
DUNEDIN, Sat. (P.A.)—Otago began a three-dav match against the Fiji tourists this morning at Carisbrook and batted first on a fast wicket.
Runs came freely after L. Watt had been dismissed when the total was 27, both J. O’Sullivan and T. Hunt batting aggressively and boundaries being frequent. t Hunt was dropped by Raddock, the wicketkeeper, off Isoa’s bowling,' but the batsmen (hen began to score with some lovely strokes. Isoa was the best of the bowlers used. O’Sullivan was clean-bowled when the total was 52 by Isoa, and then Hunt, after a sparkling innings that included four boundaries, was bowled by Cakabau. Soon after N. McGregor was beautifully caught at mid-on by Apted. After nearly two hours’ play Otago had lost 4 for 94. A crowd of about 2000 frequently applauded the fieldsmen for smqrt and clever saves. Just before' lunch the Otago captain, Smith, snicked at an off ball and was snapped up by Bula in slips.
