Three-Year-Old Winging Tasman
AUCKLAND, Sat. (Sp.).—Three-year-old Colleen Murphy must be the youngest lone transtasman air traveller yet. Her third birthday was only last Sunday. Daughter of Mr J. Murphy Mangere bricklayer, she left for Sydney this morning to join her grandmother.
Her father, who hopes to follow in about, a year, said he had no option but to send her as her mother died recently and there was no one to care for her during the day. “I went to.book her passage yesterday thinking I would have at least another 10 days with her,” he added “but they fitted her in for today, I suppose because she is so small.
“The stewardess will look after her on the trip over.”
