WELLINGTON, Fri. <P.A.>—The oiler of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union to isolate the Mountpark dispute, pending legal determination of the issues, and to work the remainder of the shipping at Auckland under ordinary and overtime conditions. was repeated by the national president (Mr IT. Barnes) before returning today to Auckland.

“When this question is resolved.” he said, “we tire confident that the action of the union will be vindicated and the incompetence of the bureaucracy will be exposed. ’ Saying that the union took the gravest view of the dispute, Mr Barnes added: “We cannot, and wilt not, compromise on issues involving safety of life and limb. “ECONOMIC CUDGEL” “In the Mountpark case we consider there has been, and still is, a violation of the regulations. ■ “However, the Waterfront Industry Commission, as its decision shows, persists in its attitude. “It appears to us that there is an attempt to buldgeon the men back to work by the use of the economic cudgel. “From day to day more Auckland watersiders are being placed under penalty, and serious delays to shipping are being caused.”
